Me: Did you go potty?
Mira: Yeah!
Me: When?
Mira (very happy and loud): At two firty seven!
This time the number actually sounded like a time, but often it's something like "Sixteen fifty two!" Which is a time when you're referring to the 24-hour clock, but I don't think she's that smart.
It's probably not a fair question to ask a 2.5-year-old. Like I expect her to have a record of her potty breaks or something.
Another frequent conversation is the following:
Me: Let's go potty!
Mira: I already did yesterday!
That is hilarious! Oh Mira Mira. Potty training - gotta love it!
I can't wait until the potty training stage. At least I'm sure it will make for great blog posts.
Well, some kids are easy. None of mine have been particularly easy, and some have had spectacular accidents in public places that have permanently scarred me. But I've heard stories about the easy ones. First-hand stories, too, so I'm pretty sure they're not just mythical.
Lots of people told me that girls were easier to potty train than boys. They lied. I think it's more personality than anything else, and hard to tell which kids will be easy or hard until you try.
Mira is such a doll. In the evenings, when it is bed time, I will ask Taylor if she knows what time it is and she usually says "Ten o'clock?" with big round eyes. I think she is hoping to throw me off or something so I will forget that it's her bedtime (and no, her bedtime is not at 10:00). Another funny number thing she does is to answer my "do you know how much I love you" question with "two?" I couldn't figure it out for the longest time until I realized that she listens to people say "I love you too" and thinks they are saying "I love you two." Kids are funny at that age.
