I watched this expecting to roll my eyes a lot, but it was actually pretty fun. Not necessarily good, but fun.

Ancona, Italy and ferry to Split, Croatia

We took a train from Rome to Ancona, Italy, where we had a one-day stop. Ancona is about ¾ of the way up the east coast, on the Adriatic Sea. The next evening we planned to take an overnight ferry to Split, Croatia, so this seemed like a simple transfer place, but Ancona is a really neat city itself! At night I wandered around and ended up hiking to a functioning lighthouse. The stone sign is at 104 meters above sea level, about 341 feet. Our neighborhood had some nice murals / graffiti: Here is a view out over a pentagonal building formerly used as a quarantine colony, a little island right by the city, open to the public: There are quite a few drinking fountains scattered all over, and all the ones we tried worked! This is the correct way for a city to be. It is very hilly, with stairs and steep roads all over. Prague Castle

Today we went to Ikea, which was kind of like trying to walk to the Ikea in Draper, Utah, from the other side of the freeway. Apparently you're supposed to drive to the Prague Ikea and not take the metro. Either that, or there's some amazing underground walkway to it and I just didn't find it. (It's possible.) There's a big mall there, too, (which is easy to walk to,) but we didn't have a lot of time, so we just went to Tesco Extra (I found Prague's Super Target!) and to Ikea, where I bought two small power strips for 69 CZK (about $3.75). Then we had to hurry back to the city center so Jacob and Phin could meet Jon and Zed and go pay for their upcoming Czech lessons that start next week! It's hard to hurry when you're taking public transportation. You really don't have much control over it. Schloss Charlottenburg and Potsdamer Platz

Yesterday me and Andrea went to Schloss Charlottenburg, and it was awesome! We went on a tour through the building, and then walked around in the garden out back. There are a lot of old paintings and stuff in there. Sophie Charlottenburg, who was a queen of Prussia, collected porcelain, so there was a lot of that. After that we went back to the gardens; they were awesome. Here's a link to the Wikipedia page. Schloss Charlottenburg There were a bunch of ducks and little birds. Here are a few pictures: Those ducks were pretty funny-looking. After that, we went home.This morning we went to LinuxTag again, and I got to play Frets on Fire. It’s just like Guitar Hero, but with a lot more songs. That was pretty fun! Tonight we went to the Linux Nacht (Linux Night), a party. It was pretty fun. They even had a live band there!
